Year of the Horse – The Victory Horse Pen
The 17 February 2026 marks the beginning of the Year of the Horse. To welcome the Lunar New Year, we present this limited edition celebrating the spirit, movement and vitality long associated with the horse.
The Victory Horse Pen offers a more intricate interpretation within the Year of the Horse collection, placing emphasis on carved surface details. Deeply engraved sterling silver shapes the character of the barrel, complemented by restrained pearlescent chestnut-brown acrylic accents at the finial and nib section.
At the heart of the barrel, a circular medallion presents a leaping horse in relief, set against Onoto’s signature chased pattern. The sterling silver surfaces are subtly oxidised, lending a refined dark tone that enhances the depth of each engraving, while careful polishing brings out luminous highlights, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow across the form.
The cap band carries Onoto’s traditional zodiac engravings Fu (福), Lu (禄) and Shou (寿), treated with the same restrained oxidation to maintain visual harmony. The solid silver cap button is engraved with a flying horse motif, subtly inspired by ancient Chinese bronze sculpture, offering a quiet reference to motion and vitality.
Limited to 26 pieces.
