The Magna Sequoyah Pen

The Magna Sequoyah Pen is created to pay homage to Sequoyah, an incredible Native American polymath, who independently created the Cherokee syllabary in 1821, making reading and writing in Cherokee possible.

The Magna Sequoyah Pen is created to pay homage to Sequoyah, a Native American polymath, who independently invented the Cherokee syllabary in 1821, making reading and writing in Cherokee possible.

Until early 1800 all of the indigenous peoples of North America only spoke Cherokee. However, that was before Sequoyah invented a system of writing and reading for his nation, which in turn inspired the creation of 21 other scripts for the use of 65 languages all over the world.

The pen design is inspired by the native North American Sequoia tree, created with red wood-effect resin and a glint of gold. The style is based on the shape of one of the most famous fountain pens ever made – the Onoto Magna of 1937. It has 3 sterling silver cap bands with the sterling silver Onoto Chevron clip. Marvel at its perfect balance and how tactile it feels – it is also one of the most robust pens on the market today, thanks to its durable, high-density composition.

This pen is available in a limited edition of 200, to celebrate the bicentennial of his creation of Cherokee written language in 2021.
