Flying Scotsman Pen – Express Blue
Following the launch of our Flying Scotsman Pen in Apple Green celebrating 100 years of Flying Scotsman, the world’s most famous steam locomotive, and in conjunction with the National Railway Museum, we also commemorate the locomotive’s other historic liveries – WWII Black and Express Blue.
The unique fittings are crafted from provenance bronze from the axle boxes on 4472 that were in use until the early stages of her recent in-depth restoration. The cap button features the smoke door, the cap band depicts the wheels, the barrel button shows the bogie wheel and the stainless steel clip illustrates a coupling rod.
Our Flying Scotsman Pen – Express Blue is presented in an apple green lacquered presentation box with engraved nameplate and is available in a limited edition of 100.
Also available in Apple Green and WWII Black to commemorate the locomotive’s other historic liveries.

DESCRIPTION
Named after the train entitled “Flying Scotsman”, that has run from London to Edinburgh since 1862, the locomotive Flying Scotsman has become synonymous with the golden age of steam and been close to the public’s heart since 1924. Appropriately this legendary steam locomotive was the first to haul Flying Scotsman non-stop, and the first steam engine to officially reach a speed of 100mph.
A beacon of industrial achievement, Flying Scotsman epitomises the Golden Age of British ingenuity, invention and engineering craftsmanship. The locomotive and its iconic route from London to Edinburgh through beautiful British countryside, be it moor, rolling hills, farms, country towns and villages, represents the pinnacle and romance of the age of steam locomotion. The billowing smoke from the chimney, the excitement of travel, anticipation of arrival, and the reverberation of the wheels on the track, all link us to our history and the history of British engineering achievement.
To celebrate 100 years of Flying Scotsman, the world’s most famous steam locomotive, and in conjunction with the National Railway Museum and TMB Art Metal, we have created this limited edition fountain pen.
All pens come with a high-quality booklet detailing the history of Flying Scotsman and the materials used in creating this pen.
